Ohio man captured in Cadiz charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting at ex-girlfriend

HARRISON COUNTY, Ohio – Carl Reynolds, 44 years-old, was caught by Cadiz police and faces attempted murder and other felony charges after allegedly shooting at his ex-girlfriend in Tuscarawas County.

Tuscarawas County Sheriff Orvis Campbell says the incident took place about 6:40 a.m.
Sunday morning when Reynolds allegedly blocked his ex-girlfriend’s path on Edie Hill Road in Mill Township with his vehicle.

The woman says she stopped when Reynolds allegedly got out of his pickup truck and began firing at her with a long gun. She stepped on the gas and her vehicle was struck by multiple bullets. The woman also suffered a wound to the head but managed to escape the scene.

Suffering from a head injury, and in an ensuing melee, she hit the Reynolds’s truck while he allegedly reached inside her vehicle and snatched her phone. The woman drove to the Uhrichsville Police Department to report the shooting, bleeding from a head wound.

Police sent out an A-P-B, all points bulletin. Cadiz police located a vehicle matching the description on US 22, and after a traffic stop, took Reynolds into custody just about 40 minutes after the shooting incident.

Reynolds, who is from Feed Springs Road in Mill Township, remains in custody in the Tuscarawas County jail as of Tuesday on charges of attempted murder, felonious assault, retaliation, menacing by stalking and violating a protection order.
