STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — The Jefferson County General Health District has given partial clearance to the Wingate Hotel in Steubenville following a mold remediation project.
The action comes after a July 15 health notice ordered remediation at the hotel, located at 820 University Blvd. Hotel officials submitted both pre- and post-remediation test results on Aug. 14. According to the health district, the post-remediation reports showed food-safe results.
Following an on-site inspection on Aug. 18, the health district approved the reopening of the hotel’s breakfast area to guests.
The hotel’s pool area, however, remains closed until further notice.
The Jefferson County General Health District said it will continue monitoring the situation to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
