ST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio — Two long-awaited public safety buildings are preparing to open their doors in the Ohio Valley.
In St. Clairsville, the city’s new Police Department headquarters at 131 South Sugar Street will hold its official grand opening on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 10:30 a.m.
Meanwhile, in Wheeling, W.Va., the Fire Department’s new East Wheeling headquarters has a tentative open house scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 13.
The Wheeling project faced significant delays after the bankruptcy of its first prime contractor stalled construction on the $9 million facility. City officials say the opening will mark a major step forward for the department and the community.
Both projects are expected to provide modernized space and improved services for first responders as they move into their new facilities.
