9/8/2025 @ 1046 hrs. a complaint of child abuse was received on station. Information was gathered for a report and information was forwarded to DJFS.
9/8/2025 @ 1248 hrs. deputies responded to an Oak Hill Rd. address for a domestic disturbance and a subject experiencing a mental health crisis. A subject involved was voluntarily transported to the hospital.
9/8/2025 @ 1449 hrs. a deputy responded to Elm St. in Scio for someone going through someone else’s mailbox. Information was gathered for a report and the matter was resolved.
9/8/2025 @ 2100 hrs. a deputy responded to a Grandview St. Scio address for a suspicious person complaint. Information was gathered for a report.
9/9/2025 @ 0238 hrs. Mark A. Taylor was taken into custody following multiple traffic violations, including fleeing and eluding law enforcement. The incident began when Taylor failed to stop for a traffic enforcement attempt while operating a motorcycle in Scio. Additional drug related charges are pending.
9/9/2025 @ 1259 hrs. an alleged sexual assault complaint was received from DJFS. Information was gathered for a report and an investigation is pending.

9/9/2025 @ 2058 hrs. deputies investigated a complaint of a suspicious person looking into a shed in Freeport. The juvenile was located, identified and sent home.
9/9/2025 @ 2133 hrs. Lacey Kruprinski was cited for driving under suspension by a deputy out of a traffic stop in Freeport.
9/10/2025 @ 0746 hrs. a deputy responded to a Cramblett Rd. address for a theft complaint. Information was gathered for a report.
9/10/2025 @ 2038 hrs. a deputy found a male walking on Freeport- Tippecanoe Road and assisted him with a ride to a local rest area.
9/11/2025 @ 0125 hrs. Frieda Miller was cited for speeding by a Deputy out of a traffic stop on Cadiz- Dennison Road.
9/11/2025 @ 0521 hrs. a deputy assisted Cadiz PD with a domestic dispute on Lincoln Ave (Cadiz). Cadiz PD is handling the investigation.
9/11/2025, @ 0959 hrs. a deputy was dispatched to a Boyce Drive Bowerston address for a two-vehicle crash. Information was gathered for a report.
9/11/2025 @ 1106 hrs. a deputy responded to a Normal St. Hopedale address for an unknown disturbance. Information was gathered for a report.
9/11/2025 @ 1823 hrs. a deputy was dispatched to New Rumley Rd at the railroad tracks for debris on the roadway. The county highway department was requested to the area to remove the debris.
9/11/2025 @ 2339 hrs. A deputy assisted Cadiz Police Department locate a subject that was reported missing. Deputy transported the subject back to his residence in the Village of Cadiz.
9/12/2025 @ 1743 hrs. a deputy was dispatched to a Lahm Drive (Hopedale) residence for a neighbor dispute. Information obtained for a report.
9/12/2025 @ 2034 hrs. Kevin Ramirez Garcia was cited for No Operators License and Rear Plate Light by a Deputy out of a traffic stop on Moravian Trail Road.
9/12/2025 @ 2104 hrs. a deputy handled a cattle complaint on Moravian Trail Road.
9/12/2025 @ 2340 hrs. deputies responded to an address in Stock Township for an animal complaint. Information was gathered for a report.
9/13/2025 @ 0549 hrs. Andre Clark was cited for driving without a driver’s license along with a license plate light violation by a deputy out of a traffic stop on Cadiz Steubenville Rd.
9/13/2025 @ 0704 hrs. Stephen R. Shontz was cited for speeding by a deputy out of a traffic stop on Cadiz-Steubenville Road.
9/13/2025 @ 0735 hrs. Jack Barfield was cited for speeding by a deputy out of a traffic stop on Cadiz Dennison Rd.
9/13/25 @ 0946 hrs. deputies were dispatched to a Normal Street address in the Village of Hopedale to conduct a welfare check. The person was located and found to be ok.
9/13/2025 @ 1430 hrs. a deputy spoke to a Freeport resident regarding an eviction. Information was gathered for a report.
9/13/2025 @ 1752 hrs. a deputy was dispatched to Cadiz Harrisville Rd for a low hanging power line causing a road hazard. AEP was contacted to repair the line.
9/13/2025 @ 2328 hrs. deputies were requested to assist Cadiz Police with a possible fight on South Ohio Street. Upon arrival parties involved had already left and nothing was located.
9/14/2025 @ 0140 hrs. William Fisher was cited for fictitious registration and no tail lights by a deputy out of a traffic stop on Eslick Road. Additional criminal charges are pending on a passenger in the vehicle.
9/14/2025 @ 0618 hrs. deputies responded to a residence in the Village of Adena to assist Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office with a possible domestic violence incident.
9/14/2025 @ 0619 hrs. Lukas W. Soos was arrested for a Protection Order Violation and Menacing and menacing charges.
9/14/2025 @ 0728 hrs. a deputy, Fire & EMS responded to a two-vehicle accident @ St. Rt. 646 & St. Rt. 9. OSP is handling the accident investigation.
9/14/2025 @ 1227 hrs. a Freeport resident called and spoke to a deputy regarding an eviction. Information was gathered for a report.
9/14/2025 @ 1432 hrs. a report of a missing/stolen firearm was taken on station. Information was gathered for a report.
9/14/2025 @1517 hrs. a deputy, Fire & EMS responded to a single vehicle accident on S. Philadelphia St. in Freeport. Information was gathered for a report.
9/14/2025 @ 1658 hrs. a caller reported dynamite being located in an abandoned house in Washington Township. Upon further investigation by deputies, Fire & EMS, the suspected dynamite was found to be road flares.
9/14/2025 @ 1722 hrs. A deputy responded to Main Street in Scio for a dog at large. The dog was returned home.
9/14/2025 @ 1725 hrs. a deputy responded to a Sinfield Road address in Green Township for a property dispute complaint. Information was gathered for a report.
9/14/2025 @ 1958 hrs. deputies responded to a report of multiple people fighting in a field on Cadiz Piedmont Rd. in Freeport Township. Subjects were separated upon arrival and it was found to be only a verbal altercation. Information was gathered for a report.
9/14/2025 @ 2331hrs. deputies responded to a Cadiz St. Jewett address for a domestic dispute. Shalene Yost was arrested for using weapons while intoxicated.
