COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol has a flashy new addition to its fleet — but this one comes with a twist. The agency recently unveiled a late-model Dodge Challenger Hellcat that was seized through criminal forfeiture and has since been outfitted with official OSHP graphics.
The high-powered muscle car, once tied to illegal activity, has been fully repurposed and rebranded as part of the Patrol’s outreach and education efforts. While the Hellcat won’t be chasing down speeders on Ohio’s highways, it will serve as a mobile display vehicle at community events across the state.
Officials say the goal is to use the vehicle as a conversation starter about crime, enforcement, and public safety — as well as a visual reminder that ill-gotten gains can have lasting consequences.
Ohio residents can expect to see the Hellcat at fairs, school visits, and public safety demonstrations in the months ahead.
