Frustration Grows in Ohio County as Flood Victims Face Delays, Funding Shortfalls, and FEMA Hold-Ups Amid Government Shutdown

OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. – Those trying to recover from recent flash flooding say a level of frustration has set in.

Triadelphia Volunteer Fire Department officers say they have to rely on donations as
they attempt to repair their firehouse before winter.

Residents also criticize requirements for having to build modular homes three feet above the ground. Residents also say the federal government shutdown has gummed up FEMA assistance.

Senate Republicans say Democrats have to vote to reopen government first – while
Democrats say they won’t reopen the government without adding spending first.
