Moundsville Secures $500,000 Grant for New Indoor Recreation Center

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va. — Plans for a new indoor recreation center in Moundsville are moving forward after the city secured a $500,000 grant from an as-yet-unnamed partner.

City Manager Rick Healy shared the news during Tuesday night’s Moundsville City Council meeting, announcing that the future recreation center will be built on the site where Sanford School once stood.

Healy said contracts are still being finalized, and a full announcement is expected in the coming weeks once all details are in place.

City officials say the project aims to create a modern, community-focused facility that will provide year-round recreation opportunities for residents.
