WHEELING, W.Va. – HealthNet Aeromedical Services and WVU Medicine celebrated the arrival of a new Airbus H-135 medical evacuation helicopter in Wheeling Monday.
The helicopter, ordered in February 2024 at a cost of $8.5 million, is equipped with state-of-the-art avionics designed to help pilots safely navigate challenging weather conditions.
Officials say the addition will enhance emergency response capabilities across the region, allowing faster and safer transport for patients in critical situations.
