Ohio — Whirlpool Corporation announced plans to invest $300 million into its Ohio laundry manufacturing facilities in Clyde and Marion, a move expected to create 400 to 600 new jobs across the two sites.

The investment, revealed Wednesday, will strengthen Whirlpool’s U.S. manufacturing footprint and support production of the company’s next generation of washers and dryers. Both facilities play a central role in Whirlpool’s laundry appliance operations, with the Clyde plant serving as the company’s main washer manufacturing site and the Marion facility producing dryers.

According to Whirlpool, the project is being supported by JobsOhio and state tax credits. The company says the investment will help enhance production capabilities and reinforce its long-standing commitment to American manufacturing.

Whirlpool, headquartered in Benton Harbor, Michigan, has operated in Ohio for decades and remains one of the state’s largest manufacturing employers.
