WHEELING, W.Va. — City officials are planning to restore scenic views of the Ohio River that have become obstructed by trees and brush at the south end of Heritage Port.
According to the city, the work will involve trimming and clearing vegetation to reopen riverfront sightlines that have gradually become overgrown.
Because of environmental regulations, the trimming can only take place between November 15 and March 30, a window designed to protect wildlife habitats.
Officials say the project aims to enhance the appearance and accessibility of Heritage Port while preserving the area’s natural environment.
