OHIO VALLEY – The region’s medical helicopter providers are preparing to join forces under a new resource-sharing alliance aimed at improving emergency response and patient care.
HealthNet and MedFlight of Ohio — two of the primary air medical services covering the listening area — have agreed to collaborate with four additional companies to form a new partnership called AeroTerra Health.
According to the participating organizations, the alliance will allow the six providers to coordinate aircraft, flight crews, and medical resources more efficiently across their service territories. Leaders say the move is designed to reduce response times, streamline dispatching, and ensure aircraft availability during high-demand periods or severe weather.
AeroTerra Health is expected to formalize operations in the coming months. More details about how the partnership will affect local response zones, dispatch procedures, and base operations are expected as the alliance moves forward.
