BELMONT COUNTY — Retired Belmont County Judge Frank Fregiato died last Thursday at his home at the age of 73.
Judge Fregiato dedicated more than two decades of his life to serving the people of Belmont County through the local court system. He began his judicial career in 1997 as a judge in the Northern Division County Court and later went on to serve on the Belmont County Common Pleas Court.
He took his courtroom into Belmont County schools… showing students how
criminal law and the court operate.
He retired from the bench in June 2023, leaving behind a legacy shaped by his commitment to the law, fairness in the courtroom, and service to the community.
Colleagues and residents remembered Judge Fregiato as a steady and respected presence in the courthouse, noting his professionalism and dedication throughout his years on the bench.
A Celebration of the Life of Judge Frank Fregiato is being planned for a later date.
