BELMONT COUNTY — Cheryl Howell-Goodwin, 74, of St. Clairsville, has been sentenced to 30 months in prison after being convicted of stealing $339,000 in funds belonging to developmentally disabled clients while employed by Paramount Support Services.
According to court records, Howell-Goodwin was found guilty of swiping the funds during her time working for the agency, which provides services and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The theft involved client accounts that were under her supervision.
The sentence includes credit for time already served. In addition to her prison term, Howell-Goodwin has been ordered by the court to repay the full $339,000 to Paramount Support Services as restitution.
Howell-Goodwin committed the thefts while on parole for a previous conviction on five counts of animal cruelty.
