The Marshall County Commissioners on Tuesday appointed Amanda Lockhart to serve as the county’s new assessor.
Lockhart has been with the Marshall County Assessor’s Office since 2012, beginning her career as an out-of-state license plate investigator. Over the years, she has taken on increasing responsibilities within the department, gaining extensive experience in property assessment and related operations.
Under West Virginia law, Lockhart will be required to run in the next election in order to serve the remainder of the current, unexpired term. That term is set to end on December 31, 2028.
