MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. – A Marshall County man has been sentenced to 11 years in federal prison following convictions related to methamphetamine trafficking and illegal firearm possession.
Joseph William Alfred, also known as “Chris,” was found guilty in July of multiple federal charges, including drug trafficking, unlawful possession of a firearm, and failure to appear for a court date. The investigation revealed that a package shipped from California to Alfred’s address contained more than two pounds of methamphetamine.
A jury convicted Alfred on the charges, leading to the lengthy federal prison sentence. The case was prosecuted in federal court following a coordinated investigation into the shipment and Alfred’s involvement in the distribution of illegal drugs in the area.
