BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — A Barnesville man with a long history of impaired driving arrests is facing a lengthy prison sentence after entering a guilty plea in court.
Douglas Johnston, 50, pleaded guilty Monday in Belmont County Common Pleas Court to operating a vehicle while impaired following his 11th such arrest. During the hearing, Judge John Vavra told Johnston he will be sentenced to prison and will not receive a lesser penalty.
The judge said Johnston could face up to 10 years behind bars. Sentencing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on January 20.
