HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. — Concerned residents packed the Hancock County Board of Education’s regular meeting Monday night, raising questions and frustrations about the district’s financial condition.
Superintendent Dan Enich addressed the crowd and fielded questions from community members, acknowledging concerns about the school system’s finances. Enich told those in attendance that Educational Consultants, LLC has nearly completed a comprehensive audit of the district’s finances.
According to the superintendent, the consulting firm is expected to present its full report to the board by the end of the month. The audit is intended to provide a clearer picture of the district’s financial standing and help guide future decisions.
The Hancock County Board of Education’s next regular meeting is scheduled for January 26 at 5:30 p.m.
