WINTERSVILLE, Ohio — A Wintersville Police officer was involved in a crash Friday morning while on patrol, according to Wintersville Mayor Mike Petrella.
The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. as the officer was traveling westbound on Cadiz Road at the intersection with Springdale Avenue. A vehicle traveling northbound on Springdale Avenue struck the patrol car on the driver’s side while passing through the intersection.
The officer was transported to Trinity West Medical Center and is believed to have suffered only minor injuries. The other driver involved did not report any injuries.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation. The crash remains under investigation.
