MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. — Former Marshall County Assessor Eric Buzzard has been sentenced to prison following his guilty plea on embezzlement and related charges.
Judge Jeffrey Cramer imposed a sentence of two to 15 years in prison during a recent court hearing. Buzzard entered his guilty plea in November.
In addition to the prison term, Buzzard will be placed on seven years of probation following his release. The sentence also includes restitution and fines, along with an order to reimburse both the county and the state for costs associated with the criminal investigation.
Buzzard’s case stems from financial crimes committed while he served as county assessor.
