BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio — Douglas Johnston of Barnesville will spend 10 years in an Ohio prison following his 11th conviction for driving while impaired.
Johnston, 50, was sentenced in Belmont County Common Pleas Court by Judge John Vavra. The judge cited Johnston’s extensive driving history, including 26 prior license suspensions over the past 29 years.
Judge Vavra also imposed a lifetime driver’s license suspension on Johnston for the third time, noting repeated violations despite previous penalties.
Court records show Johnston’s latest conviction continues a long pattern of impaired driving offenses, which ultimately led to the maximum prison sentence.
