MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. — Marshall County commissioners re-elected Scott Varner as board president for 2026 during their regular meeting Tuesday.
Commissioners also discussed progress on the county’s multi-phase fire hydrant upgrade, which is nearing completion of Phase One, with additional work planned for Phases Two and Three. Staffing at the county EMS center was addressed as well, with the approval of five new dispatch employees.
Community grant funding, including support for the local chamber of commerce, was also reviewed. The next commission meeting is scheduled for Feb. 3 at 9 a.m.
