CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Senate on Thursday passed Senate Bill 388, which would allow private organizations to place copies of the Aitken Bible in certain public school classrooms.
The Aitken Bible, printed in Philadelphia in 1782 and often referred to as the “Bible of the Revolution,” could be displayed in fourth-, eighth-, and tenth-grade classrooms under the proposal.
The bill now moves to the West Virginia House of Delegates for consideration.
