Gov. DeWine Announces Body Camera Grants for Ohio Valley Police Departments

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s office has announced a new round of funding to help local police agencies purchase body cameras, with several Ohio Valley departments set to receive grants.

According to the governor’s office, Steubenville will receive just over $37,000 through the program. East Palestine and East Liverpool are each expected to receive between approximately $19,000 and $21,000.

Additional grants include about $10,000 for Byesville and roughly $4,700 for New Philadelphia.

State officials say the funding is part of ongoing efforts to support law enforcement agencies and increase transparency and accountability through the use of body camera technology.
