COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has released final numbers for Ohio’s deer hunting seasons, which concluded Feb. 1. Hunters checked more than 232,000 deer statewide, marking the fourth consecutive year the harvest has exceeded 200,000.
Coshocton County again led Ohio with 8,527 deer harvested, extending its streak as the state’s top county to 24 consecutive seasons.
In eastern Ohio, Harrison County recorded the highest local total with 4,959 deer harvested. Belmont County hunters checked 3,725 deer, while Monroe County reported 2,195.
While those counties posted strong numbers regionally, none finished among the state’s top 10 harvest counties for the 2024-25 season as listed here:
- Coshocton County: 8,196
- Tuscarawas County: 7,373
- Knox County: 6,730
- Muskingum County: 6,269
- Ashtabula County: 6,042
- Guernsey County: 5,762
- Carroll County: 5,759
- Licking County: 5,754
- Holmes County: 5,684
- Richland County: 5,028
