Columbiana County Humane Society Seeks Owner of Domesticated Fox Found in Salem Township

COLUMBIANA COUNTY, Ohio — Columbiana County Humane Society officials are attempting to locate the owner of a domesticated fox discovered in Salem Township.

Officials said the animal was wearing an AirTag tracking device manufactured by Apple Inc. when it was found. According to a social media post, residents initially believed the fox was wild.

A volunteer with the humane society was able to safely capture the animal but suffered a bite during the process which staff treated. Officials notified state wildlife officers.
