CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Senate Finance Committee has taken the next step toward providing financial assistance to Hancock County Schools.

Committee members approved an $8 million appropriation that would be placed into a special fund, contingent upon the passage of House Bill 4575. The legislation is aimed at addressing financial challenges facing the county school system.

The measure now moves forward in the legislative process as lawmakers continue to debate funding solutions.
