STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — As Youngstown State University prepares to take over operations at the former Eastern Gateway Community College campus, the Jefferson County Commission has hired a firm to conduct a property evaluation and help identify potential developers for nearby land.
Commissioners said the focus is on property located at the corner of John Scott Highway and Sunset Boulevard. The evaluation is intended to determine the highest and best use of the site and to attract development opportunities that would complement the university’s presence in the area.
Officials say the move is part of a broader effort to encourage economic growth and redevelopment as the transition to Youngstown State moves forward.
