HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. — Governor Patrick Morrisey may soon approve $8 million in emergency loan funding for Hancock County Schools.
The West Virginia House of Delegates approved Senate-amended changes to House Bill 45-75 and sent the measure to the governor for his signature, potentially unlocking the funds for local school use.
Officials caution, however, that the district will still have to make personnel cuts due to deficit spending uncovered by recent audits.
