COLUMBUS, Ohio — Two Ohio House Representatives are seeking to restrict the ability of nonprofits to post bail for suspects accused of serious and violent offenses.
The proposed legislation, informally called “Holly’s Bill” after a woman injured during a July 2025 brawl in Cincinnati, has not yet been formally introduced.
Holly, injured in a viral Cincinnati brawl last summer, suffered serious head trauma. One of her attackers had recently been released on bail, inspiring Ohio lawmakers to propose “Holly’s Bill” to restrict nonprofits from posting bail for violent suspects.
Officials say the bill likely will not see movement in the Ohio legislature until May or June.
