STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – Steubenville city officials are campaigning for passage of a renewal levy set to appear on the May ballot.
The levy currently generates about $300,000 annually and helps fund wages and benefits for roughly 80 of the city’s 200 full-time employees. Most of those positions are within police, fire, and EMS departments, with the remaining funds supporting the city’s general fund.
Officials say the levy remains an important source of revenue for maintaining essential services.
