BELMONT COUNTY, Ohio – The director of the Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce is facing legal action in Belmont County court following multiple theft allegations by Walmart.
Jill Hissom, 57, of Barnesville, is charged with three counts of misdemeanor theft. The charges stem from separate incidents reported in January, February, and March. She plead not guilty Thursday at a pretrial hearing in Belmont County’s Eastern Division Court.
Hissom is free on bond and is scheduled for a pretrial hearing April 23.
Barnesville Area Chamber of Commerce members issued a statement confirming they are aware of Hissom’s theft charges and are reviewing the matter. According to Hissom’s LinkedIn profile, she has served as the Director of the Barnesville Chamber of Commerce for nine years. As of Friday morning, the chamber’s website listed Hissom as Director of the organization.
