Local Animal Shelter Urgently Seeking Donations as Intake Remains High

0

OHIO VALLEY — A local animal shelter is asking for community support as it continues caring for dozens of animals currently awaiting adoption.

According to shelter staff, there are 57 dogs currently up for adoption, placing added demand on daily supplies needed to keep animals clean, healthy, and comfortable.

River News spoke with Jessica Sinn, who emphasized that while some items are regularly donated, other critical supplies are running low.

“We always take blankets and towels, but we’re really in need of other supplies right now,” Sinn said.

The shelter is specifically requesting donations of:

  • Paper towels
  • Wet puppy food
  • Soft treats
  • Bleach
  • Laundry detergent

Staff say these items are used every day to maintain sanitary conditions and provide proper care for the animals.

With intake levels remaining steady, shelters across the region continue to rely heavily on community support to meet basic needs.

How to Help

Donations can be dropped off at the shelter at any time. Officials say every contribution—big or small—makes a difference.

Community Impact

As more animals wait for adoption, supplies like cleaning products and food play a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly and ensuring animals are cared for while they wait for their forever homes.
