WHEELING, W.Va. — Ohio Valley native and C. J. Goodwin is once again giving back to the community through the return of the annual PeGa Youth Sports Camp this summer.
The 9th Annual PeGa Sports Camp is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Highlands Sports Complex. The free event is open to children ages 7 to 13 across the Ohio Valley.
The camp will provide hands-on instruction in football, basketball, and cheerleading, while also offering mentorship opportunities from professional athletes, collegiate coaches, and community leaders.
The event is organized through the Perry Galloway Jr. Foundation, a nonprofit founded in 2017 by Goodwin and his sister in honor of their late father. The foundation focuses on mentoring youth and creating opportunities for children in underserved communities throughout the Wheeling area.
Since its creation, the foundation has partnered with local schools and organizations while serving thousands of children through sports camps, mentorship programs, and community outreach initiatives aimed at building confidence, discipline, and leadership skills.
Organizers say participants at this year’s camp will receive skill training in multiple sports, direct interaction with athletes and coaches, a free T-shirt, lunch, swag bag, prizes, and other giveaways.
Goodwin, who currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys, has continued to return to the Ohio Valley each summer to host the event, which has become one of the region’s largest free youth sports camps.
