WHEELING, W.Va. — One of Oglebay’s tastiest weekends of the year is firing back up as the Backyard BBQ Festival returns May 22-24 at Oglebay Park Resort, bringing three days of food, live music, family fun, and fireworks to Wheeling.
The popular festival promises a full weekend packed with smoky barbecue favorites, live entertainment, pitmaster cooking demonstrations, craft beer and bourbon tastings, and activities for kids, making it a Memorial Day weekend destination for families and food lovers alike.
Festival-goers can enjoy a lineup of food vendors serving ribs, brisket, pulled pork and barbecue favorites, while expert pitmasters will host live demonstrations and “Que School” sessions teaching grilling tips and techniques throughout the weekend.
Live music will keep the festival rocking with performances from a variety of regional acts, including New Age Adenas, Pyramid Incident, Jason Treuman, Tammy Jo & Iron Horse, Company Caravan, The Clintones, Two Of Us, The Muddle, Gage Joseph Band, Tongue ‘N Cheek, and Fan Halen.
Families can also enjoy the Little Piggy Play Station, featuring bounce houses, games, bubbles, and kid-friendly activities throughout the weekend.
For adults, the festival will also feature craft beer, wine selections, and bourbon tastings during designated hours.
The weekend wraps up in spectacular fashion with a fireworks show at dusk on Sunday, May 24, closing out the Memorial Day celebration with a bang.
