Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced Friday that $26.9 million in grants will be distributed to communities across 57 counties to help create more safe and affordable housing options for Ohio families.
The funding comes through the state’s Welcome Home Ohio Program, which supports the purchase, rehabilitation, and construction of homes. Eligible recipients include land banks, local governments, and nonprofit housing developers.
Governor DeWine said the program helps address workforce needs, attract new residents, and allow longtime Ohioans to remain in the communities they love.
Since the program began, nearly $86 million has been awarded statewide, supporting the creation of 727 homes in 63 counties.
State officials say the latest round of funding will continue efforts to revitalize neighborhoods, restore vacant properties, and increase housing availability throughout Ohio.
