OHIO COUNTY, W.Va. — Peters Run Road in Ohio County was temporarily closed Monday after a fallen tree became entangled in power lines, creating a potential fire hazard.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the area near Stewart’s Hill shortly before noon after reports of a tree down across utility lines. Witnesses reported seeing smoke coming from the tree, raising concerns that it had ignited.
Firefighters responded to the scene to assess the situation and secure the area while utility crews worked to address the damaged lines.
Authorities urged motorists to avoid Peters Run Road as crews handled the incident. No injuries were reported.
