No injuries in Wheeling housefire

WHEELING, W.Va. Just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Wheeling Fire Department was called to a housefire on 18th Street in East Wheeling.

The first arriving engine company on the scene reported smoke and fire coming from the front of the house. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and ventilated the building.

No one was injured, and the home is believed to have been unoccupied at the time of the incident.

Crews from Engine Co. 2, 4, 5, Rescue 1, Ladder 1, and Squad 2 on A platoon responded to the scene.

A cause remains under investigation. Firefighters cleared the scene around 3 p.m.
