FOLLANSBEE, W.Va. — The City of Follansbee is set to begin a major renovation of its fire station thanks to a $2.7 million federal grant secured through U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito. Originally built in 1957, the station will soon be modernized to meet today’s standards.
The project will include reconstruction of the current station along with the addition of two new bays, decontamination areas, a workout room, a conference room, and other modern features. The upgrades aim to transform the facility into a central command center for Follansbee’s emergency services.
