WHEELING, W.Va. — Longtime U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is coming to Wheeling for a major speaking event titled, “Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here.”
The event is scheduled for Friday, August 8, at the Capitol Theater in downtown Wheeling. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m., with the program set to begin at 6 p.m.
Sanders is expected to speak on what he calls the growing control of the federal government by billionaires and large corporations and the potential loss of health insurance for 15 million Americans with the President Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” and healthcare reform.
Local workers and community activists will also speak at the event.
