River News Business Spotlight: Moe’s on Main & Touch of Amish: A Local Treasure Bringing Community Together

FOLLANSBEE, W.Va. — Step inside Moe’s on Main and Touch of Amish in Follansbee and you’ll find more than just shelves of handcrafted items and homemade treats — you’ll discover a thriving community of creativity, flavor, and small-town pride.

Owners Monica Myers and Kevin Carroll opened the doors of their Brooke County shop in October 2017, hoping to give local makers and bakers a place to showcase their talents. Today, the shop is home to products from more than 45 small businesses, living up to its motto: “Small helping small.”

A Store with a Little Bit of Everything

Tucked between the fire station and post office at 1031 Main Street in Follansbee, Moe’s on Main is a consignment shop with a twist. The store carries a wide variety of goods — from Amish jams, relishes, salsas, baked goods, cheeses, beef sticks, and jerky to handmade crafts, décor, and one-of-a-kind gifts.

“It’s not about being an eatery,” Myers explained. “It’s about being a place where people can find something unique, whether it’s a jar of jam or a handcrafted gift, and know they’re supporting local families.”

Crafting Connections

Beyond shopping, Moe’s on Main has become a creative hub. The store regularly hosts craft classes in the evenings and offers private paint and craft parties for groups. These gatherings draw community members together, sparking friendships and memories while also helping people discover new talents.

Supporting Small Business, Building Community

For Myers and Carroll, the mission has always been about more than sales. By providing shelf space and opportunities, they’ve created a platform where dozens of small businesses can reach new customers.

“It’s so rewarding to see local businesses grow because they had a spot here,” Carroll said. “Every jar, every craft, every class — it all goes back to supporting our neighbors.”

When to Visit

Moe’s on Main welcomes customers Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. On class nights, the shop stays open late, buzzing with laughter, paintbrushes, and the smell of fresh-baked treats.
