WEIRTON, W.Va. – As part of the City of Weirton’s ongoing efforts to enhance the appearance of the community, the city is notifying residents and businesses that any illegally posted signs will be removed from utility poles and public rights-of-way, beginning October 1, 2025
Illegal signs include, but are not limited to:
- Signs or flyers affixed to utility poles, trees, and/or equipment.
- Yard signs that advertise a business, commodity, service, or entertainment not directly related to the property on which the sign is placed.
This notice is provided as a courtesy to residents and business owners giving all the opportunity to voluntarily remove any signs that may be in violation and avoid possible removal fees and fines.
Code Enforcement Officers will actively monitor their assigned Council Wards to identify violations of this policy and remove any illegal signs within their areas.
