Cleveland Man Sentenced in Jefferson County Cocaine Case

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — A Cleveland man who pleaded guilty in Jefferson County to possessing more than three kilograms of cocaine has been sentenced to 11 to 16½ years in prison.

James Blackwell entered the guilty plea in connection with an incident stemming from a Jan. 23 Ohio State Highway Patrol traffic stop.

Authorities said Blackwell fled from troopers during the stop and allegedly threw the cocaine from the vehicle during the pursuit. The chase ended when Blackwell crashed into an apartment building on Sherman Avenue in Steubenville.
