Ohio Valley Nonprofit Leader Charged in Alleged $150K Charity Theft

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio — The head of an East Liverpool-based nonprofit organization is facing felony charges related to the alleged theft of more than $150,000 in charitable donations.

According to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, Amanda Kiger, 52, director of the environmental public interest group River Valley Organizing, is accused of taking the funds for personal use.

Authorities also allege Kiger failed to file state income tax returns for four consecutive years.

Officials say the charges stem from an investigation into the handling of donations made to the nonprofit organization. Further details about the case have not yet been released.
