Police Seek Public’s Help in Substation Vandalism That Cut Power to Thousands

WHEELING, W.Va. — Wheeling Police Department continues to investigate vandalism at an electrical substation that temporarily knocked out power to thousands of residents.

Officials said the incident occurred Friday and disrupted electricity service to about 7,500 customers in the Wheeling area.

Police are asking anyone with information about the vandalism to contact the department using its non-emergency phone number, 304-234-3664.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify those responsible.
