WEIRTON, W.Va. — Weirton City Council on Monday amended an ordinance to increase the city’s Municipal Service Fee to $5 per week.
Officials said the additional revenue would be used to help reopen the County Road Fire Station and add staffing for the Weirton Fire Department.
Because the ordinance was amended, it must receive a third reading before final approval. That reading is scheduled for the April meeting of Weirton City Council.
