Reconstruction to Impact Travel on U.S. Route 22 in Weirton

WEIRTON, WV — Reconstruction work along U.S. Route 22 in Weirton is set to begin Monday and is expected to significantly impact travel times in the area.

Officials with the West Virginia Division of Highways say crews will begin repaving the outer lanes of the highway from Harmon Creek to the Veterans Memorial Bridge.

The project will also include work on the bridge itself, where partial shutdowns are planned as crews replace a corroded cable.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and plan alternate routes during the construction period.
