FOLLANSBEE, W.Va. — The parents of a one-month-old baby are facing multiple felony charges following the child’s death Wednesday in Brooke County.
Authorities say Caleb Shane DiCapio, 21, and Hope Lynn Taylor, 20, called for help at their home on Peacock Lane in Follansbee after reporting the infant was unresponsive.
First responders arrived and pronounced the baby dead at the scene.
Brooke County Sheriff Richard Beatty told reporters he believes serious neglect related to conditions inside the home contributed to the child’s death.
The case remains under investigation.
