MARSHALL COUNTY, W.Va. — State officials have identified the mine worker who was killed Friday in an underground industrial accident at the Ohio County Mine Golden Ridge Portal.
The victim was identified as Darin Reece, who served as a continuous miner section supervisor at the facility. According to investigators, Reece died from severe injuries to his head and neck sustained during the incident.
The accident occurred at the mine’s portal located in Dallas, within Marshall County.
