WHEELING, W.Va. — A Wheeling native is sharing a message of confidence, kindness and self-belief through her newly released children’s book.
Author and illustrator Jayden Burge recently celebrated the launch of The Garden Inside Me with a community book signing at Dupe’s Scoops in Wheeling’s Fulton neighborhood. The event gave families an opportunity to meet Burge, have books signed and enjoy an evening of ice cream and conversation.
The story follows Burge’s younger sister, Kinzlynn, as she explores a magical forest where each flower represents an important character trait, including courage, confidence and kindness. Throughout the journey, she discovers that the qualities needed to succeed in life have been within her all along.
Burge, who works as a teacher, said she was inspired by her sister and her passion for encouraging young people. She hopes the book serves as a positive reminder that children already possess the strengths they need to grow and overcome challenges.
The Garden Inside Me is available for purchase in paperback and eBook formats through Amazon. Burge also plans to release an audiobook version in the future.
