HANCOCK COUNTY, W.Va. – Hancock County Sheriff J.S. Gittings announced in a press release Thursday that members of the Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug Task Force, Hancock County Sheriff’s Office and West Virginia State Police conducted multiple search warrants in the Newell, West Virginia/Hancock County area on Wednesday.
Law enforcement executed the search warrants following months of narcotics trafficking investigations. They seized fentanyl, crystal methamphetamine and illegal guns.
The following people were arrested:
- Robert Cornman, 57, of Newell, W.Va.

- Knight Cody Salyers, 32, of Newell, W.Va.

- Nicholas Keller, 33, of Newell, W.Va.

- Randy Leasure, 37, of New Cumberland, W.Va.

- Zakary Strubb, 33, of East Liverpool, Ohio (no photo available)
Gittings says all those arrested are in the West Virginia Regional Jail awaiting prosecution.
The Hancock-Brooke-Weirton Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the Weirton Police Department, the Brooke County Sheriff’s Office, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
